Company Philosophy of Terra Lana

Terra Lana’s company’s philosophy is reflected in our choice of name. Terra means earth, Lana means wool. We believe what’s good for the environment is good for humans. That’s why we are so passionate about using wool - one of New Zealand’s abundant natural and environmentally friendly resources. It’s a sustainably renewable resource that is safe for humans and leaves no nasty legacies at the end of its natural life.

It is important that we humans adopt more environmentally friendly practices and products to ensure we maintain a healthy planet that is fit for future generations. That’s why Terra Lana is committed not only to minimising the environmental impact of our products but to being environmentally responsible in the day-to-day running of the company’s activities.

Some of our initiatives include:

 

• Recyling all waste materials from the manufacturing process.
• Printing brochures on environmentally friendly stock.
• Recycling all refuse (organic, plastic, cardboard, paper) where practically possible.
• Storing documents electronically and printing only when absolutely necessary.
• Utilising eco bulbs.
• Turning off all equipment and lights when not in use.
• Encouraging staff to cycle to work.

Our environmental focus reaches out to our customers and suppliers as well, encouraging them to reduce their own environmental impact.
