History of Terra Lana Products Ltd

Terra Lana Products Ltd was incorporated in 1999 to produce eco-textiles and building insulation from recycled wool. It’s building insulation products capitalise on the work done by the Wool Research Organisation of New Zealand (WRONZ, now AgResearch) in the 1990s. Terra Lana used WRONZ’s work to produce commercially saleable products and in the year 2002 was the first New Zealand company to have wool based insulation products appraised by BRANZ (Building Research Association of New Zealand).

Terra Lana’s natural wool insulation products have been further refined over the years and the range extended to include ceiling insulation, wall insulation, acoustic insulation, underfloor insulation, hot water cylinder wraps and pipe lagging.

The company has grown rapidly with the burgeoning demand for environmentally friendly insulation and has outgrown several premises. Terra Lana Products Ltd now operates a purpose built factory at 55 Francella St, Bromley, Christchurch producing nearly 40,000 square metres of insulation per week. The company’s products are sold throughout New Zealand and exported to Japan and the United States.
