Woollen pipe lagging prevents hot water losing heat rapidly before it reaches kitchen, bathroom or laundry taps. It also shortens the waiting time before water runs hot at the taps and helps prevent pipes freezing in cold temperatures. To prevent heat loss, wrap the wool pipe lagging material along the whole length of the pipe, or at least the first metre if the rest of the pipe is inaccessible. Available in linear or tubular format.
Pipe lagging made from wool is naturally safer and better for the environment. At the end of the building’s life the woolen lagging can be recycled or composted where it breaks down safely and naturally. The lagging contains no harmful substances and requires no protective clothing or masks to install. Wool lagging is naturally flame retardant which means it is very difficult to ignite. In a house fire it will not release harmful toxins.
Heat Saving New or retrofit hot water piping in residential and commercial buildings.
Freeze Protection Water supply pipe work up to 40mm diameter where frost protection is required.
Concrete UPVC pipe work encased in concrete. NB For pipes imbedded in concrete or buried
underground, Terra Lana PP75 100% Polypropylene must be used.
"As a self employed plumber I believe in offering my customers the best products available, preferably locally made in New Zealand. The Terra Lana range offers both. Using recycled materials and providing Kiwis jobs just makes total sense. I particularly like the pull on pipe insulation that covers 15mm, 20mm and 25mm pipe. It is fast and easy to install and it helps keep my van less cluttered as I don’t have to carry 3 different pipe insulation sizes." ~ Dean Wiseman, Certifying Plumber, Christchurch
