Christchurch City Council Motorway Project.
A large scale endeavour using TERRAMULCH ground matting to suppress weeds and protect and enhance planted areas along motorway banks and around riparian water catchment areas.
The earthworks along the motorway corridor leave large scale areas of bare earth, subject to erosion and weeds.
TERRAMULCH was installed over these areas and plantings then made through the matting. The TERRAMULCH enhances the take and growth of the plantings, helping retain water and suppress weed competition.
The TERRAMULCH provides a mud-free surface for planting and maintenance and also helps negate muddy runoff of topsoil while visually enhancing the whole site through the establishment stage.
